The Artwork

Lee’s drawings act as a means to understand his thoughts and feelings, a process that has led him to refer to his pieces as Visual Diaries.

“I cannot determine where I begin and my work ends. They’re essentially one and the same to me. My drawings work in a way that empties my mind and I try to translate my feelings/emotions onto the surface. All my work is in essence an attempt to understand and know myself.”

The themes of loss, violence, eroticism, time & mortality form the backbone of Tim’s work. Often melancholic in tone, his drawings places the viewer in a unique, almost voyeuristic position, looking into the darker facets of the human experience. It is the ramifications of all these tensions, contrasts and juxtapositions that gives his work a truly original edge.

“I hope people can see beauty in the simplicity of my acts; that they can admire my attempt to decorate and celebrate what it is to be human”

“I’m never looking for perfection in my work; I like the near misses much more”

You can't be devil and angel Love must die young (never old enough) Don't let the light in or you'll kill us all Ashes between you and me Bridal

Of a thousand tears, of a thousand songs Without end, an ode to my sunken love Beau Why do I still water flowers? I'll never be your roman candle
In and out of love Anchors Intangible immutable and the immortal adored You were born with a light between your eyes I was born to answer to your sun Farewell my mourning bird
